AVS Construction Calculator
There is no Calculate button. Results update as you type. If the results section is missing, one of the input boxes is still empty or holds something the app cannot read — a stray letter, or two dots in a number.
Tap the mm or ft / in button in the top right of any calculator. It switches instantly, and it stays switched everywhere. You picked the starting one when you first opened the app.
When you are in imperial, a small bar appears above the keyboard with ft, in, Space and /. Use it to build values like 8' 2 3/8". Plain decimals work too.
You chose this when you first opened the app. Whole numbers, one decimal place, or two. To change it, clear the app's data in Android Settings and the opening questions run again.
Tap the share icon in the top right of the calculator. It stays greyed out until there is a result to send. Your phone's own share sheet opens and you pick where the text goes.
Running Measurements uses your phone's text-to-speech engine. Check the media volume is up and that a speech engine is installed under Android Settings, System, Languages and input.
Slab and Post holes are two different jobs, so they are two tabs on the same screen rather than a menu you have to go through. Dumpy Level and Raked Walls work the same way.
No. All fourteen calculators are free. There is nothing to buy, no account and no sign-in.
Yes. The app has no internet permission at all. Everything runs on the phone, in a basement or out bush, with the phone in flight mode.
Please tell us. Email the calculator name, every number you entered, the units you were in, and the answer you expected. That is enough to reproduce it. We take this seriously — a wrong number costs material.
